The Twelve Days of Christmas was first published in 1780 in the children’s book, Mirth without Mischief, and is considered to be an English Christmas carol, even though evidence suggests it originated in France. There are many variations of the song as it has passed down through the years.
Artist Susan Winget has interpreted The Twelve Days of Christmas Petite Ornament Set based on the original version published in 1780. It differs from the more popular, commonly known version published later, mainly by the order of the last four objects.
